To commemorate International Math Day, on March 14, Dr. Shabana Nisar from IBA, Karachi, and Dr. Adnan Khan from LUMS, Lahore, joined forces to inspire a love for math and science among young learners. They began by captivating the audience with intriguing math magic tricks, prompting them to ponder the mathematical principles behind the illusions. Demonstrating the practical applications of simple geometry and trigonometry, they tackled complex questions, engaging participants in hands-on problem-solving. Transitioning to brain-teasing math riddles, they encouraged creative thinking and teamwork, culminating in a collaborative card game design activity. Witnessing students enthusiastically collaborate in groups to craft their own games and tackle challenging math puzzles was truly inspiring.
This STEM Circle was organized at the IBA by the IMAC, under the patronage of Dr. Shabana Nisar, along with the School of Mathematical Sciences (SMCS), IBA.
